My current desktop is more than 10 years old. It was serving me well, but it’s not as performant as it was in the past. Disks became too small and too slow, CPU could have few more cores and so on, so forth…

Why like that? AMD is superior and even Linus have Threadripper… Yeah, sure, but I wanted something stable and my experience with AMD graphics driver tells me, that I can’t trust them. Intel provides premium Linux support for years, AMD just tries to catch up recently. Just for gaming, AMD might be a better choice, for work I prefer Intel. Out of the box better support, no fan on chipset. With i9-11xxx I could have PCIE 4.x support, but difference is not yet worth the price.
